Innovations and New Treatment Strategies in Heart failure Portoroz, Slovenia

This meeeting was sponsored by Texas Heart Institute and University Medical Center, Ljubliana, Slovenia. Dr. Gerdisch presented "Cardiac Tissue Regeneration: Valve Reconstruction and Myocardial Regrowth."

Presenters included some of the leading physicians treating heart failure and working in stem cell and tissue regeneration research. The meeting was attended by physicians from various places in the US and Europe.

 

The St. Francis Cardiovascular Symposium 2009

The world-renowned physicians at St. Francis Heart Center presented the most recent evolution of surgical procedures and interventions, including the use of tissue enginerring to repair and rebuild the heart. 

Presenters included the physicians and surgeons of Indiana Heart Physicians and Cardiac Surgery Associates.  In addition, two physicians associated with the St. Francis Weight Loss Center and the keynote speaker was Charles Dieten, M.D., founder of the Timmy Foundation.

Dr. Gerdisch presented conducted two presentations:

  • Rebuilding the heart:  Tissue engineered cardiac repair
  • Treament of heart valve disease: When and how?

 

The Society for Heart Valve Disease 5th Biennial Meeting in Berlin, Germany
(June 27, 2009)

The Society for Heart Valve Disease holds a biennial meeting at which all aspects of valve biology, pathology, treatment and surgery are presented.

Dr. Gerdisch was invited to attend the Society for Heart Valve Disease in Berlin, Germany on June 27, 2009. Dr. Gerdisch and his colleagues presented, "Extracellular Matrix for In-vivo Tissue Engineered Valve Repair And Reconstruction."

The objectives of the prestigious Society is to undertake, promote, support and encourage research, and the education of the public, in the causes of heart valve disease, the prevention of, and the treatment of heart valve disease or any related cardiac disease, illness or condition. 

The mission of the Society is to advance the practice, science and art of treating heart valve disease, through a multi-disciplinary approach with the ultimate aim of reducing the global burden of the disease. Download the poster session.
